Hello Rattler Nation!
We had a great Powderpuff Game yesterday night. It was awesome to see the students engage in such a fun activity. They even had great T-shirts made. In addition, the money raised goes towards the Senior Prom on May 20th. See the picture above and a great time was had by all. Senior won and it went until 9:30 at night but by far one of the best events of the year!
Community events you don't want to miss!
We are most excited about bringing back an event I created years ago--what was our biggest event of the year "Pathway Night." We have not done this since before the pandemic. This event is open to all community members and students and families in the cluster and pre-Covid we had 100's of stakeholders here supporting our students and checking out our pathways! We hope you can join us in bringing this back, as we rename it Community Fest! Mark your calendar for April 27th!
BOCCE: Mark your calendars now!
Safety Patrol Partnership in Action Again!
In regards to community events, many of you know I have partnered with the 5th-grade Safety Patrollers not only in Tierrasanta but all of the Eastern Division SDPD SP students. I have been involved in planning events and experiences for them and it seems they are enjoying them. Last month, I hosted them all here for a great basketball game and let them do the halftime show. This month, I contacted SDSU Football Director and asked if he would host all the SP students and parents at the Spring Scrimmage for SDSU at SnapDragon Stadium. It was a long shot as this game is open to the public. They met with me and sure enough, we are on for that game. It is going to be so fun---I'm going as well! and SP's Graduation is in April and will be here at CHHS. This is a great way we as an HS show support for our younger student leaders!
VAPA Awards: We have won 6 years in a row!
Last Sunday I was able to attend the VAPA Awards for SDUSD in which our amazing student Johnny Avila was presented with the award for VAPA Spotlight Artistic Achievement Award and won a 250.00 scholarship. In addition, I was presented with a Leadership Award for having and retaining a large VAPA program for our school size and prioritizing it in the budgeting process. VAPA is very important to our school and culture and we can't do it without our amazing teachers and students. It is without a doubt a priority.
A Great Event our Students Participated in for What I Wish My Parent Knew! Make sure to keep reading the blog for more events.

Booster Clubs are created by each "Class Of" to raise funds to create unforgettable experiences for your students. Items include caps for graduation, prom ticket prices lowered, organizing Grad Night, and having fundraisers to pull this off. They work very hard and need your support. Please go to your student's "Class Of" website and join the registry to stay up to date on all things going on with your student's graduating class.
