Hello Rattler Nation!

We had a hectic week during the first week of school. Students got their schedules, videos were shown about people on campus, and also ways to get involved. Schedule changes are all complete, and we also have a BBQ, Movie, and Football Scrimmage tonight!

Principal's Coffee: We had a great one, full of a lot of information:

Check it out here: PCoffeeAUG:

You can also watch the video here: PCoffeeAUGVideo

Videos: Students Watched Videos our Upperclassmen made about getting involved, our cell phone policy, and got a chance to hear from our ASB President.

ASB President:

Student saw and were explained verbally and with a video about our cellphone policy:

Then, how can you get involved in school, no matter what grade you are in:

Here are all your options! If you want to start a club, etc, just let us know!

Commitments to you and your students:

There are many commitments we make to you as a Rattler Community. There are two I want to make sure you remember:

  1. You are entitled to your child's up-to-date grades. Please hold our staff accountable by reaching out to the teacher and asking why they may not have been updated. If the issue continues, please email the teacher and copy the proper Associate Principal.

Mr. Willis: World Language, Math, Science

Mr. Liew: English, History, VAPA, PE

  2. You are entitled to a response via email or phone within 48 hours. We are usually faster than that, but again, we need to be held accountable to respond to our community. Vacations/breaks/weekend, this rule does not apply as I, as a leader, strive for my staff to have a proper work-life balance and make sure they are committing to their own families as well as yours.

Counselors:

Counselors are here to help you! Your students ask to see their counselor by going to the CHHS website and clicking on the "Counseling Tab"-then, they click on their counselor to fill out the form. Counselors will then call them to the office. The days when I was in high school, waiting in the Counseling Office, are behind me. This is much more streamlined today. However, in emergencies, you are welcome to come in. "I want to pop in and ask a question during the passing period:" of course! Here's what the page looks like:

Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com

Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations, but doesn't get into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.

The AW Weekly: This lets you know all the Home Games that are happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can always come out and support as well.
