Pep Rally Success, Transition Fair, and WASC Prep

Hello Rattler Nation!

We had a fantastic Pep Rally today. The ASB did a phenomenal job and the students had a great time. We are excited to announce we had a considerable acceptance rate to SDSU and they were very excited to get together and celebrate and meet with SDSU employees!

We have a Transition Fair the district is hosting on Wednesday at CHHS; all are welcome to attend. We will be swamped preparing for our full audit, known as our WASC visit, which will take place April 17-19th this upcoming week, and we had a small but mighty Principals Coffee group today. Friday is a minimum day, with dismissal at 1:30.

Saturday School-

YOU MUST SIGN UP BY FRIDAY AT NOON THE DAY BEFORE TO ATTEND. We staff based on the number, and late sign-ups can cause scrambling at the minute to find people Saturday morning. I appreciate your understanding.

Saturday School is how you make up work and clear those tardies and absences!

Here is the signup information--

This week was Para Professional Week and Associate Principals Week!

We had a great week celebrating so many employees here at CHHS. Our Para Professionals that work with our students with IEPs--we have 25-- were celebrated along with Mr. Schmidt, Mr. Pisapia, Mr. Liew, and Mr. Willis: all of whom act as APs for CHHS.

Community events you don't want to miss!

We are most excited about bringing back an event I created years ago--what was our biggest event of the year, "Pathway Night." We have not done this since before the pandemic. This event is open to all community members, students, and families in the cluster, and pre-Covid, we had hundreds of stakeholders here supporting our students and checking out our pathways! We hope you can join us in bringing this back as we rename it Community Fest! Please set your calendar for April 26th, 2023.

BOCCE: Mark your calendars now!

ASB: Lots of events coming up!

TALENT SHOW May 19th:

Bringing it back to large scale, we’re advertising early for talent.

Prom May 20th:

Enchanted Garden

Lip Dub:

We’re looking to present this in late May or early June.

We are working on our Alma Mater, which is student-driven, and we have selected a mascot student. He has a mascot background and is very excited.

Athletics:

ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION--PLEASE GO TO https://chrattlers.com/.

We are now doing an Athletic Weekly; this is created with the most accurate data we have at the time, and we understand things change last minute, so always check MaxPreps as well.

CCAP for next year's courses

If your student has requested a Miramar College CCAP Dual Enrollment Course for next year for the first time, they need to follow the steps that are outlined here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZIaoEur6n97gDxGXRFQLDnsZYTDo6aWKb5ieA1CyptU/edit?usp=sharing

Instructions and steps have also been emailed to your student by Jeff Thomas with our district, so it may be a good idea to ask your student to check their student email too.

Failure to follow the appropriate steps will jeopardize your student’s opportunity to enroll in these courses.
