Rattler Nation!
This past week, we had Senior Nights for Fall Sports, PlayOffs, VAPA, ROTC events (Chess and Academic League). and a super fun Spirit Week before Halloween. Please see all the pictures below. We will be having other upcoming events as well. We had a Club Rush today, which was terrific, so it made our cover photo for the week. We also have a Movie Night on Monday (see flyer below), Halloween Tuesday (costume parameters below), our play Radium Girls on Thursday - Saturday, and Principal's Coffee on Friday! Tonight, we play Kearny High School away in football, and it's the last game of the season before we get started with Winter Sports, and that information is also below. Please follow our social media site so you are up to date on all our events:

Parent Support:
In the last few weeks, we finished collecting LCFF forms and THANK YOU! However, I need the next and final round of cards, the Federal Survey Cards. LCFF is one funding source, and FSA is the other. PLEASE fill this out. California will lose funding this year and all COVID monies are going away. This will not be a great financial situation for us, and changes will happen. We need this money and badly. Please support us by filling it out. ITS ONLINE!
Dear Parents:
We ask everyone to utilize the parent portal to complete the federal survey. Please click on the QR code below to complete the “2023-24 Impact Aid Program Survey Form.” This survey is very helpful for our school to receive federal funding based on those families that live on federal property, including military housing. If you need assistance with your parent portal, please get in touch with Ms. Rosa at rpenamoya@sandi.net. I appreciate your support.

Halloween Guidelines: We hold very strict guidelines for costumes. There are varying reasons for this, and they are outside of the dress code due to varying reasons. Please review with your student to avoid us having to address them. We want them to have fun without us being the costume police. Here are the guidelines:
Calendar: Mark your calendars: Nov 4th at 9 am is Sports Physicals! November 2-4 is our Play, and we are so excited. See the flyer for the play below.
Thursday: Play 7 pm-9 pm
Friday, November 3rd, 2023: Principal's Coffee

Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION--PLEASE GO TO https://chrattlers.com/. All athletic packets can be uploaded and handed in this way. You do not need to come in and drop them off. The game this upcoming Friday is against Hoover High at Hoover, and all our games are listed in the Athletic Weekly below.
Here is the slide for the Sports Physicals. Here is the sign-up link.
Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a whole separate school. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations but doesn't get into the operations of athletics. Please bookmark that site, so you have it. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.
Tutoring:
Counselors:
CHHS Counselors went into all Senior English classes to present all about college applications and how to access Xello. Xello is our District’s platform where seniors get to report the colleges they intend to apply to, request transcripts, link to Common App and requests letters of recommendations.
Counselors and Mr. Liew will continue to host College and FAFSA/Dream Act workshops on Wednesdays during lunch in the Media Center until the end of November.
Taylor Britt, SDSU Admissions rep is hosting office hours on Zoom for our parents and students during school off hours. Please look at the flyer.
AP Test Purchasing:
Booster Clubs are created by each "Class Of" to raise funds to create unforgettable experiences for your students. Items include caps for graduation, prom ticket prices lowered, organizing Grad Night, and having fundraisers to pull this off. They work very hard and need your support. Please go to your student's "Class Of" website and join the registry to stay up to date on all things going on with your student's graduating class.
