Hello Rattler Nation-

We are in full Holiday swing for the next two weeks. We have all sorts of holiday festivities, and athletics has games (see below and come out to support!) Next week boasts finals and a lot of music, choir, and orchestra performances.

Did you miss Principals Coffee Friday? You can find the presentation HERE

❄️ Winter Break Spirit Is Heating Up at CHHS! ❄️

As we head into the final stretch before Winter Break, ASB has planned a lineup of joyful, creative, and downright hilarious activities to bring our campus together. Here’s a peek at the fun our Rattlers will be enjoying:

🎁 Gift-Wrapping Games

Students will test their holiday instincts in “Guess What’s Inside?”—a gift-wrapping mystery challenge where they try to identify strange or funny objects hidden inside wrapped boxes. It’s equal parts puzzling and entertaining!

🎀 “Nailed It: Gift Wrap Edition.”

Inspired by the hit TV show Nailed It!, students will attempt to wrap oddly shaped items to match a perfectly wrapped example. The results? Creative… sometimes impressive… always hilarious.

🎤 Holiday Karaoke Contest

Students will take the stage to sing their favorite festive hits. From bold solos to unexpected duets, this crowd-favorite brings lots of laughter—and some surprising talent!

💋 Holiday Lip Sync Battle (Class Competition!)

Classes will compete in an all-out Lip Sync Showdown. The winning class will take home a $100 prize—and major bragging rights. Expect high energy, big performances, and plenty of school spirit.

⛄ Snow Machine & Photos With Reggie the Rattler

We’re bringing winter to San Diego! ASB’s new snow machine will turn our quad into a mini winter wonderland, complete with photo ops featuring Reggie the Rattler dressed in holiday gear. A perfect way to capture festive memories before break.

🎨 Holiday Ornament Decorating & Grams

During lunch in the week leading up to Winter Break, students will have the chance to decorate their own holiday ornaments—a fun, creative way to personalize the season. ASB will also be offering Holiday Grams, where students can write warm messages and share a little cheer with friends before heading off to break. It’s a simple, joyful tradition that helps our campus feel connected and festive.

Celebrating Competition & Community

🏅 Coming Soon: The First Annual CHHS Olympics!

After Winter Break, we’re excited to launch a brand-new tradition at Canyon Hills: the CHHS Olympics! Students will compete in a variety of sports, challenges, and team-based games designed to bring out their school spirit, teamwork, and friendly competition. This event will showcase the incredible talent and energy of our Rattlers across all grade levels.

🤝 Introducing Our First Ever Unified Games

As part of this new tradition, we are proud to host our first Unified Games, a celebration of our students with special needs through inclusive, relationship-building competition. Students of all abilities will participate together in supportive, joyful events that highlight connection, teamwork, and belonging. This will be a powerful opportunity for our entire school community to cheer on one another and celebrate what makes CHHS so special

Few Reminders:

Saturday School--ONLY ONE left this year!!! Semester 1 absences roll over in Semester 2.

Saturday School is not every Saturday. You have been receiving letters via email, and students have been sent additional reminders, with more to follow. If you are a senior, we also had a Senior Contract that was reviewed in class and signed by you.

Please make sure you sign up so you know your child is eligible not only for school activities but also for PROM!

HOW IT WORKS: There is a link with a date (see below). The link opens on WEDNESDAY before Saturday. It begins on that day because we need to staff it appropriately. Years ago, we opened it on Mondays, and many students signed up, but they never showed up. Then the staff showed up, and we had to send them home.

If you do not maintain proper attendance, you will start losing privileges if your attendance is not recorded correctly and cleared. Sign up below to view the following dates and mark your calendar.

Calendar and Dates: We will preview the next 2 weeks to see what's coming in the new year.

Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com

Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations, but doesn't get into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.

The AW Weekly: This lets you know about all the home games happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can also come out and support you.
