Sweet Ending to a Sweet Year!

Freshman for the BIG win this week!

Our of approx. 900 entries SHS Freshman took home top awards at the MOPA!

Since 2006 the San Diego MOPA has held a youth photography exhibition to showcase the photographic talents of San Diego and Tijuana students (ages 4-18). This year’s theme asked students to creatively interpret the theme “Dreams”. The jury selected from over 840 entries to curate an exhibit of 100 youth photos and videos. Two of our freshmen students (Paige Wisely and Lindsey Tattoli) were selected to exhibit their work in the museum in the Fall.

DO YOU NEED TRANSCRIPTS: SENIORS!

As you are getting ready to celebrate your senior’s graduation from Serra, you must also make sure that their Final Transcripts are sent to the college or university that they will be attending in the fall.

The “Senior Final Transcript Request Form” is now available in the counseling office. Instructions are on the form. All transcripts mailed to the colleges will be official and will be mailed to arrive before the July 1st deadline.

If your student attended a San Diego Community College a transcript must be requested directly from them. Instructions for doing that are available in the counseling office.

Listed below are some quick tips to make sure that the form is filled out correctly.

Only one form is needed. There is space to request 8 transcripts. The transcript(s) need to be mailed using a Serra envelope. One envelope for each transcript is needed. Envelopes are next to the forms.

If the college or university needs a final high school report filled out, please print it and include it with your request.

Please make sure that the envelope is addressed correctly. We are suggesting that your student uses MSWord to address the envelope. Print their name and birthdate on the inside flap so if the envelope gets separated from the form it can still be processed.

Paperclip the form to the envelope. Please do not staple form or insert form in the envelope. Please do not seal the envelope.

Return the completed form to the counseling office.

For your convenience we have created mailing labels for the following colleges:

Booster Information--Booster Information--Class of 2019: At our recent meeting we talked about how we can support one another, making the Class of 2019's last year at Serra the best year. We decided to divide and conquer with SHS footing the bill for Graduation at USD and Boosters supporting events along the way including GRAD Night. We are so grateful to the Boosters. Please participate in their latest fundraiser: SERRA HS SENIOR CLASS OF 2019: Dear Parents of Graduating Seniors, As we begin our 2018-2019 school year, the Serra Senior Parent Booster Club will be raising funds for this year’s senior class activities which include events such as Grad Night, Senior Luncheon and Graduation. Help us reach our fundraising goals for these events by making a tax- deductible donation of $50-100.00. Any amount is greatly appreciated. Donations can either be made online using this link, squareup.com/store/serra-senior-parent-boosters, or you can write a check payable to Serra Senior Parent Boosters. If using the online square account through the above noted link, you will be able to use your credit card. If you prefer to write a check, please drop your check off in the front office. Please address the envelope, “ Class of 2019,” and write that in the memo of the check as well to avoid any confusion with the Class of 2021 Boosters which is also collecting money. As parents of seniors, we are looking forward to a fun and exciting year; your support will be greatly appreciated.Thank you very much!
