Hello Q-Nation!
We had another amazing week at SHS! Students were on top of their game with zero discipline issues and teachers met in alike subject groups and also interdisciplinary groups in order to collaborate not only on their content, but on the students they have in common. Also our boosters are starting to meet. Please read the last section of the blog for updated information!
Today was the highlight with our students participating (if they so chose to) in the Climate Change WalkOut. This was approved by our board of education and we had many students very passionate about this and so word spread quickly. SHS Administration help guide them so it was safe and informational. They had a very classy and educated WalkOut. We are proud of them and their civic engagement. Our leader of it Annie Do also wrote an amazing article for the Union Tribune and you can check that out by clicking on the link and the news was here (Channel 5 so look to see us tonight!). https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/opinion/story/2019-09-13/commentary-why-teens-are-striking-for-their-future?fbclid=IwAR1DT9he7uEEkahTcyt-w17uIqHbO0QeqicLQxnqunIO7LV3FXUgPaeGGaY
