Dear Serra Community,
I hope you had a good first day. We understand that initially getting online and trying this for the first time can be taxing but you guys are doing a great job so try not to stress out. Tomorrow is Period 2 and is 9:45-10:45. There was some confusion around this. School starts at 8:50 every week BUT this one. This week the schedule is 9:45-10:45. Please see below IN GREEN for this week only.
The schedule is the way it is for the very reason of issue that arose today. Many students were not able to get on and that will go down shortly. Also Thursday and Friday allows us to reach out to make sure you are ready for the following week, to avoid the tech issues so class isn't disrupted next week, and be ready for Distance Learning Live. Lastly this week your child should be working on a portfolio that was given to you in period 1. If you could not get into your period 1 class you will get details from your other teachers or on Thursday and Friday. That portfolio is standards based and is the curriculum for the week.
Teachers are going through this week a series of trainings; which is why our schedule is the way it is. They need to make sure their tech skills etc are ready for your child starting next week. We allotted an hour each day for your students to meet with their teacher before next week and also time to make sure all students know what they need to do for Tuesday. We also have our night events.
I want to remind you of our night events this week. All events are voluntary and from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM. All links you see are posted on our website in our calendar. Please use the calendar to enter the meetings as this is just a picture. We look forward to seeing you!

Hello - I have a question on the portfolio that the students were given in period 1. Not sure what is meant by ‘standards based’ ? Is this mandatory fir student to complete?
