TARDIES:

Last week we had a huge increase in students reporting to class late. Please encourage your child to log on early, 1 minute, if possible as students trying to enter class once instruction has begun is a disruption and teachers at times don't notice someones in the waiting room as they started teaching. We understand certain times can not be helped, but please encourage them to be proactive.

We understand that missing school may be causes some social emotional issues at home. We at Serra have the most successful Wellness Center in the district. We can help! Please reach out to Dani Octon at this link https://sites.google.com/sandi.net/student-wellness-center

WIWMPK

What I Wish My Parents Knew Recap

The first What I Wish My Parent Knew of the school year, Frameworks to Success: Adapting to Distance Learning, was a success! Students facilitated a conversation about what students wish their parents knew about distance learning, the challenges, what they need to be successful, and how their parents/caregivers are supporting them during this time. Subject matter experts from Ashford University and the Military Child Education Coalition shared their wisdom and provided many resources and tools for students and families about organization and social-emotional health. If you missed it, you may watch the videos below for forum highlights and the entire forum. In addition, the links to the PDFs with all the resources provided are below. We hope you can join us for the next What I Wish My Parents Knew forum, Tuesday, November 17th at 5:30 PM. You may register here: https://wiwmpk2020-2021.eventbrite.com/
