Happy 3-Day Weekend!

Hello Rattler Nation,

We hope you enjoy the extra day to relax and spend time together. This week has been busy, and we had some excellent enrichment activities outside school. However, check this out: Our bleachers are finally fully installed and look fantastic—special thanks to Jonn Pisapia for continuing to manage everything regarding construction. To be fair though, he deferred to me for design and colors. The kids were clear about how awesome they looked!

NECA Field Trip:

Students engaged with industry leaders at the NECA conference downtown. This was open to everyone to check out jobs across San Diego and make connections in order to enter the work field right after high school, if not an internship before. The opportunities and experience blew away the students.

San Marcos Field Trip:

Did you know that San Marcos now offers immediate admission into its college for SDUSD students? This is amazing because it allows students to understand without a doubt that they have been admitted to college regardless of acceptance or rejection from other colleges. San Marcos wants to keep students in SDUSD right here in SD.

Club Elevate was busy making videos for Red Ribbon Week with Mission Bay High, and you can check it out here:

Youth leaders developed a PSA for National Red Ribbon Week that will be shown at Ultra Star Cinemas in Mission Valley from October 20th to 27th, 2024. This film will be shown in all movie showings within the preview lineup- super exciting!  Check it out here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Mn-9ePTEW0j3sdrH2Dug-yrCDsv2xZvi/view

Calendar:

Monday: Nothing

Tuesday: Senior Class Meeting at lunch; Governance in the AM.

Wednesday: Foundation at 630 pm: all are welcome

Thursday: early out

Friday: Principal's Coffee

Saturday School is Back: Homecoming is at stake.

Students with absences and tardies must make them up in Saturday school. Failure to do that starts excluding them from things like Homecoming, Prom, Senior Activities, etc. FIRST SEMESTER ABSENCES AND TARDIES carry over to Semester 2, so they need to get made up now. Teachers are giving a huge amount of leniency for late students due to construction; however, if your child still has a tardy, I would start to discuss with them why everyone else can get there, but your students still can't even with all the grace given.

Saturday School Signups are here:

The form opens on Wednesdays and closes on Fridays so we can staff it appropriately. It also does not happen every Saturday.

Counseling has a lot going on right now because the articulation process has started, and the move up in the calendar has us doing this even earlier. Articulation is the process of collecting everything we need to start building a master schedule for next year.

Monday: They are at DePortola

Tuesday: They are at Farb

Wednesday: There is an incoming 9th grade Parent night here at CHHS! at 6pm

Kiwanis:

Kiwanis and CHHS have an amazing relationship as they give so much time and energy and funding to our TTown schools. CHHS had the pleasure of presenting and we couldnt be more grateful for them!
