Hello Rattler Nation-

Last weekend brought CHHS students to the forefront for two major events. Wrestling had a huge tournament here at CHHS, while Cheer competed in the San Diego City Conference Cheer Championships. It was a long 8-hour day for our students and for me as I got to watch them, but it was so worth it! Check it out below, Mock Trial. We have Movie Night this week and Principal's Coffee this upcoming Friday.

Mock Trial Club — Next year, it's going to be a class

A mock trial is when students prep for a scenario of an actual trial and then get to put on that trial at the actual courthouse with a REAL judge. Mr. Washle is the advisor and will be teaching this actual class next year! Check it out!

Wrestling: Our gym was packed all day, and I was able to get there to watch several matches, including this one, a girls' wrestling match. Did you know we have had several girls' wrestlers get full scholarships? They are dominating, and we are so proud.

Cheer Championship: Students competed in their CIF Divisions for our San Diego City Conference Championships, for which I was asked to serve as Head Judge. I was a student-athlete most of my life because I love sports, but my main sports were Track and Competitive Cheer. It was amazing to see the teams as they put on a great show.

Few Reminders:

Semester 1 absences roll over in Semester 2.

Saturday School is not every Saturday. You have been receiving letters via email, and students have been sent additional reminders, with more to follow. If you are a senior, we also had a Senior Contract that was reviewed in class and signed by you.

Please make sure you sign up so you know your child is eligible not only for school activities but also for PROM!

HOW IT WORKS: There is a link with a date (see below). The link opens on WEDNESDAY before Saturday. It begins on that day because we need to staff it appropriately. Years ago, we opened it on Mondays, and many students signed up, but they never showed up. Then the staff showed up, and we had to send them home.

If you do not maintain proper attendance, you will start losing privileges if your attendance is not recorded correctly and cleared. Sign up below to view the following dates and mark your calendar.

SCHOLARSHIPS!!!

Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com

Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations, but doesn't get into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.

The AW Weekly: This lets you know about all the home games happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can also come out and support you.
