Happy Late Sunday Serra High!
We have a lot going on so make sure you are checking all the proper places to get important information.
COVID Testing:
To make Covid-19 testing more accessible to students, Covid-19 testing will now be available from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm every Wednesday. This new time takes effect on Wednesday 5/26/2021.

State Academic Testing:
We have a testing coming up in a variety of ways this week. Whether its AP Testing or State Testing your child will be participating. Here is the information:
Serra/Canyon Hills High School Spring 2021 Assessments
This year the State requirements for SBA testing of 11th graders in ELA, MATH, and the California Science Test have changed (last year they were waived completely). In lieu of these assessments, all students will take a series of short assessments during their classes this week. The schedule is as follows:
SBA ELA & Math Opt-In
Every 11th grade student in SDUSD will have the opportunity to complete the SBA in English Language Arts and mathematics in order to have the opportunity to participate in the Early Assessment Program (EAP) connected to college readiness for the CSU system. This assessment will be offered to students on an opt-in basis after consultation with school site counselors and parents.
If you and your student would like to participate, please email nwillis@sandi.net .
Can parents opt their students out of testing these local assessments?
We strongly encourage participation especially because we are using local assessments that are typically administered by teachers for the purpose of informing instruction and providing feedback regarding the next steps for student learning. Please complete this form to inform us of your opt out choice.
The data we obtain from these assessments are very important to us as a school. We learn about trends and the effects of Distance Learning this year. The scores do not impact your student’s grades or transcript, rather they inform us about areas we can do better. If you have any questions, please email nwillis@sandi.net and I will respond to you.
