Hello Rattler Nation---
We have had an interesting week here. A plane crash is not something we are used to seeing or triaging. We want to thank all our principals who jumped out of bed, our first responders, and anyone else who was needed. Our military community is strong, and we are supporting it in various ways.
NOTE: Monday is Memorial Day, and we have the day off. Please mark your calendars.
Graduation: everything you need to know!
Medications:
If your student has medication and/or supplies that need to be picked up from the health office, please pick them up no later than May 29, 2025. Anything left with the health office will be discarded.
Both medication and procedure orders are good for one calendar year. If your student will be returning for the 2025 – 2026 year and needs new orders, you can find frequently used forms here: https://www.sandiegounified.org/departments/nursing_and_wellness_program/forms
Also, feel free to pick up new forms when you stop by the health office.
Ninth Grade Bridge:
If you have an incoming 9th grader, we are already planning for their return and the fun they will have. It starts with this highly attended event. Please register as soon as possible and mark your calendars.

Let's look at highlights from this week:
LIP Dub: Our district-wide Lip Dub is complete; everyone wants to see it! Check it out!
Senior Awards!
We did a whole different setup this year, and it was a HUGE hit! It was more of a family style in our Media Center.

Purple Star Awards Ceremony:
CHHS was celebrated at the District's PS Awards Ceremony. We also enjoyed having three of our military students sing the national anthem. We received the award and certificate, which we will keep in our Military Family Life Counselors' Office. The students were:
Leilah Conrad
Rae Hassebrock
Seifer Martz

Stoles and Cords are being handed out:
Most Chords are handed out tonight at Senior Awards, and if you are not attending, you can pick them up tomorrow, but there are very special stoles that are also given out. They are the top leaders in a variety of areas. Valedictorian, Saultatorians, etc., and examples such as Leader in Me! Students are getting very excited for Graduation Tuesday.

Music Concert:
We had a fantastic night of music this week!

Video Production for the win AGAIN!
Last night, our student, Sophia Lee, won second place in the state for her PSA, The Conversation. We're so proud!
Engineering Final:
Students had to do a Predator vs. Prey Robot Competition.

Most significant event of the Year: Mark your calendars now:

Calendar: for the rest of the year:

Memorial Day Weekend: Monday OFF
FINALS WEEK:
Monday: OFF
Tuesday: Finals and Graduation at 6 pm
Wednesday: Finals, Senior breakfast, and Diploma Pick-up
Thursday: Last day of Finals and Last Day of School. YAY
Athletics:
Athletics is a very complex program—it's like running a separate school. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations, but does not delve into athletic operations. Please bookmark that site so you can access it later. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.
Athleticclearance.com will open June 9, 2025. Physicals must be completed on or after June 9, 2025. There are two upcoming opportunities to get a physical.
