A week for the Arts!

Hello Rattler Community,

I hope everyone is well. I apologize for the late blog as I developed a severe case of COVID-19 and am still very ill, if you need something please reach out to someone on my out of office message. I have never missed a blog so I knew I had to get this out. We have a wonderful week this week and a February full of celebration with a lot of holidays. This week our play begins and we high encourage you to attend and see the great work that is happening at CHHS in the Arts. Information for the play is found below. Principal's Coffee is this Friday!

CHHS and many other SDUSD won a state award called the Purple Star Award!!! It is an honor and the article is below. If you are a military family and are in need of services please reach out to us as we are here to help and have resources to do so!

COVID: COVID Testing is on Thursdays and only for staff and students that test weekly. If you are out with COVID or sick or out on protocol--You can't show up here to test. That defeats the purpose of spreading COVID on school grounds. Please go to the testing center at 4100 Normal Street OR the near McDonald's in the Tierrasanta Town Center at 10585 Tierrasanta Blvd from 8am-6:30pm.

Here is your weekly COVID case letter:

We need your help:

The budget for CHHS is starting to be created and it can't be done without your voice. This data helps guide the SSC in allocating funds for students. Please fill this survey out and have your voice heard.

  1. Please complete this Needs Assessment Survey. We need everyone’s input as we enter into a new phase of next year’s Goals and Budget development.

Play: Please come and support the arts here at CHHS! Here are the details:

The show is called "The Wolves" and it was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. We plan to have performances 2/3, 2/4, 2/5, 2/10, 2/11, and 2/12, all at 7:00pm. Due to language and subject matter, this play is for mature audiences only.

We haven't fully worked out the logistics on seating yet, but we plan on selling tickets for $7.00 and we will have to limit seats to 100/night total.

Masks must be worn at all times.

Athletics: please check chrattlers.com

Spring Sports are coming and will be posted at the link above when details are available.

Tutoring:

Need Tutoring from a TEACHER? Here is the schedule: School-wide Tutoring Schedule! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1425zttn_c4wJVceahL_e5snF7iFbY_Zg/view

The BIG Question:

Masks: What mask exactly does my student need to wear as some masks are hard to come by. SDUSD recommends but does not require N95 and KN94--however, a surgical mask is fine and a cloth mask will be ok.

SENIORS

Do you have a Senior? Well CHHS has a Booster Club so you can stay up to date on things and events pertaining to them:

The Canyon Hills/Serra Parent Class Boosters is a parent organization that supports your student's graduating class with activities and events not typically sponsored by the school. As your student approaches senior year, through fundraising and donations, this group helps offset the cost and implement activities like grad-night, prom, senior luncheon, graduation venue, powder-puff, and more.
