Hello Rattler Nation-
It was a great week after the Homecoming Dance, which was terrific. Check it out below. This upcoming week features a 4-day week, with Monday as an instructional day. Wednesday is our College Night (see Counselor Connection below) and the Great California Shakeout, where we practice in case of emergency, just like last year when we had one. There are 15 home games this week; please support, and a ton is going on in Athletics! Scroll down for more.
Principal's Coffee:
If you missed the PC this month no worries! Here is the information:
Presentation: OCTCOFFEE
Are you an athlete or a parent of one????
I know our VAPA department would love to invite you to their play. The above play is happening next week and the week after. These students work equally hard on their craft and would love for you to see it. If your child is lucky enough to be both an athlete and a VAPA kid, fantastic! These are NOT the plays we grew up with. Come check us out!

UCSD and College Applications:
UCSD helps with a seminar to review the college application process and talk with our upperclassmen!

ASB:

GEAR!!!: The Holidays are Coming!

RATTLER GEAR: 20% OFF: We're frequently asked about CHHS GEAR and where to purchase it. Here is one way: Please check this out before it closes in two weeks! We rotate items, so if you like something you see, buy it now!

Saturday School is Back: If you have absences, you are required to attend the Saturday School sessions.
HOW IT WORKS: There is a link with a date (see below). The link opens on WEDNESDAY before Saturday. It begins on that day because we need to staff it appropriately. Years ago, we opened it on Mondays, and many students signed up, but they wouldn't show. Then the staff showed up, and we had to send them home.
If you do not maintain proper attendance, you will start losing privileges if your attendance is not recorded correctly and cleared. Sign up below to view the following dates and mark your calendar.

Monday | Non Instructional Day |
Tuesday | SGT--Cancelled |
Wednesday | Senior College Night 6 pm |
Thursday | Califormia Shakeout |
Friday | Nothing |

Counseling:

The CHHS Counselor Connection is your one-stop newsletter for important updates, deadlines, and opportunities at CHHS. Each issue includes:
Key dates (progress reports, field trips, workshops, etc.)
Grade-level announcements (college visits, presentations, resources)
Counseling and wellness updates to help you succeed
Recently, UCSD admissions presented to our seniors about campus life, admissions, deadlines, and important application guidelines. We have more colleges ready to meet and contribute to our seniors. To attend these presentations, Seniors must sign in using the Google form listed on the CHHS Counseling Connection Page.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce a district-wide FAFSA event on Saturday, November 15, from 9 AM to 12 PM in our school's Media Center. We encourage all students and parents to attend for assistance in completing the FAFSA/CADAA application for college tuition.
Dear Seniors,
You are invited to Senior College Night on Wednesday, October 15th at 6:00 PM in the Media Center.
Representatives from UC San Diego, San Diego State University, and Miramar College will be presenting valuable admissions information and resources to help guide you through the college application process. This is an excellent opportunity to hear directly from the experts and get your questions answered.
In addition, Unofficial Transcripts with your Class Rank will be distributed after the event.
We hope to see you there!
Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com
Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations, but doesn't get into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.
The AW Weekly: This lets you know about all the home games happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can also come out and support you.

IMIN After School Program Event: Come check it out before the PLAY!
