Hello Q-nation! Sorry this is a little late...very busy weekend and Friday last week. Another amazing week at SHS! Girls Basketball made it to the State Semi finals but lost to McFarland. They fought hard and we want to congratulate them! Also next week is our Play Noises Off. I have been watching practices and it looks amazing! The kids are working so hard. This is a great way to spend family night. The dates and times are below under the "crushing it" section. This week is a slow one since we just had the amazing dance and pep rally.

You can order your exams by taking your AP order form and payment to our finance clerk in the finance office. Deadline to order and pay for AP exams is March 15. Community College Night:Thinking about taking a CC class? Already signed up for one?This meeting goes through all the risks and rewards when it comes to these classes allowing you to make the best decision for your child. This meeting is mandatory if you plan on taking these courses. Due to the HIGH volume of students and families we will be doing this in TWO nights.

Last week, ASB put on a spirit week in anticipation for the pep rally last Friday and the “Astroworld” Winter Formal dance on Saturday, March 2nd. Spirit days included PJ day, sports day, and spirit colors day! The dance was on Saturday will be held at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park from 7-10 PM. At the dance, we had access to the whole museum, including all of its interactive and engaging exhibits that teach students about the power of science. It was a successful event,
Last friday, ASB Students worked together to put on a spectacular pep rally for Tierrasanta Elementary school.This first of a kind event was aimed to motivate the students participating in the elementary school’s annual fun run. The pep rally featured members of Serra’s JV and varsity cheer squad as well as varsity athletes from soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and football. An amazing lineup of fun games such as “Hungry Hungry Hippos” was enjoyed by all the students at the elementary school. Many staff members and parent volunteers claimed that the event was exceptional as it energized many of the kids for the upcoming fun run. The overall goal of this event was successfully reached and Serra’s ASB was beyond happy and honored to have helped Tierrasanta elementary with this kick off rally.
VAPA:
The theatre club at Serra High School is preparing for an upcoming play in March. Students are working hard to create an outstanding performance during “Noises Off”, by Michael Frayn which is a comedy guaranteed to make you laugh. The theatre club advisor and teacher, Mr. Blockker, has been working hard with his Tech Theatre students to build the incredible two story stage for this play. We welcome all teachers, parents, and students to the show for $7 for the 8 show dates on:

Clubs:
This week at Serra one our many clubs on campus, Club Elevated, held an assembly to talk about the issues of drug abuse with the help of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). DEA agent Rocky Herron came to Serra this past Tuesday, February 26th, presenting about irresponsible drug use and the many consequences that follow. This is one of many events Elevated has presented to raise awareness of the effects of drug abuse. If you would like to join Elevated they meets in room 230 on Mondays and Thursdays during lunch.
