Hello Rattler Nation-
Homecoming is one week away! We are thrilled, and every day leading up to it features a new theme for students and staff to participate in. Friday is the Pep Rally and a double header for football. The dance is Saturday from 7-10 pm Please, parents, mark that down!
Spirit Week and Homecoming!

Games:
We watched so many games this week. The best, however, was the Middle School Athletics Basketball Tournament right here at CHHS. It was so amazing to watch our middle school students compete and speak to our future rattlers. I loved it.
Construction Progress:
Did you know that many of the improvements you have seen lately we have been told no to by people above? Well, Jonn Pisapia and I do not take no for an answer. Our students deserve everything they are entitled to.
We are starting to install our signage around campus, which will be an ongoing project, but it looks awe-inspiring, and the students are commenting. We are getting new wall mats in the gym. Check it out:

CCTE Construction Pathway:
Did you know we here at CHHS have a construction Pathway? No, they do not work on school construction, but they are learning all the skills in case they want to pursue that profession. Our builders work with these students as mentors, etc. Our Construction Pathway is in Year 2, and that is the year they build a tiny home to get to a family in need. They just started, and we are all so excited. Check it out!
CHHS Gets District-Wide Recognition!
Our CHHS Chavista students are featured on the district website, highlighting the importance of community and encouraging everyone to embrace their culture. You can view their stories through the following links:
ASB: They are busy doing amazing things!

RATTLER GEAR: 20% OFF: We're frequently asked about CHHS GEAR and where to purchase it. Here is one way: Please check this out before it closes in two weeks! We rotate items, so if you like something you see, buy it now!

Saturday School is Back: If you have absences, you are required to attend the Saturday School sessions.
HOW IT WORKS: There is a link with a date (see below). The link opens on WEDNESDAY before Saturday. It begins on that day because we need to staff it appropriately. Years ago, we opened it on Mondays, and a large number of students signed up, but they wouldn't show. Then the staff showed up, and we had to send them home.
If you do not maintain proper attendance, you will start losing privileges if your attendance is not recorded correctly and cleared. Sign up below to view the following dates and mark your calendar.
NOTE: This schedule is in effect Monday through Saturday to accommodate Homecoming.

Monday | Nothing |
Tuesday | Nothing |
Wednesday | Nothing |
Thursday | Nothing |
Friday | Pep Rally at 2:30 and Homecoming Games as we have a double header, JV at four and Varsity at 7 |
Saturday | Homecoming Dance: Viva Las Vegas |
Counseling:

The CHHS Counselor Connection is your one-stop newsletter for important updates, deadlines, and opportunities at CHHS. Each issue includes:
Key dates (progress reports, field trips, workshops, etc.)
Grade-level announcements (college visits, presentations, resources)
Counseling and wellness updates to help you succeed
Recently, UCSD admissions presented to our seniors about campus life, admissions, deadlines, and important application guidelines. We have more colleges ready to meet and present to our seniors. IN order to attend these presentations, Seniors must sign in, using the google form, listed in the CHHS Counseling Connection Page.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce a district-wide FAFSA event on Saturday, November 15, from 9 AM to 12 PM in our school Media Center. We encourage all students and parents to attend for assistance in completing the FAFSA/CADAA application for college tuition.
Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com
Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events with pictures and celebrations, but doesn't get into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.
The AW Weekly: This lets you know about all the home games happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can also come out and support you.

We can't wait to see you!
