Hello Rattler Nation, Happy Saturday-

We are on fire here at CHHS. Our students are doing amazing things, the weather has been great, and we have events every single day and many times more than one. Check out some highlights from this week! We also had broken athletic records and information of physicals. Check out the Athletic Section!

Principal's Coffee: It was the last one in the year, and all the information is HERE

Boy Volleyball Senior Night: Above

It was so great to be there to celebrate the Seniors. My daughter, when she was here, was coached by Taylor, and you can see the pride on their faces as they get ready to branch out into the world!

Theater Showcase:

This is always a great event. Students write scripts and then they act them out on stage. It's an amazing experience for them and us.

Baseball Pancake Fundraiser:

Baseball held a breakfast where they learned things like social skills as they sat with families and fed them. They were so cute! The event was a huge success, and baseball raised a ton of money!

ROTC:

The ROTC SDUSD Joint Brigade has had a Lincoln High School and is always an amazing event where we celebrate all the programs, regardless of branch. The best part was that our very own Silas was made CO of all the brigades, and we are so proud of him!

CCTE/Pathways Showcase! We made the news, check it out!

Students are starting to commit to colleges! Congrats!

Horse Ranch Visit:

Groups of Students went on a field trip to learn how to care for horses. They had a great time!

Youth Creating Change:

Our Video Production classes and SAY San Diego's Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention program partnered to participate in the Directing Change Film Contest through an organization called Youth Creating Change. This project educated students in video production about mental health, with a focus on reducing stigma, sharing resources, and substance use prevention. From there, students created powerful films highlighting these important topics.

Jorge Alatorre focused his film on mental health, aiming to encourage young people to check in on those around them, because it can mean more than you know. Take a look at his film here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zy5E8Lc9GLKFeIb8bDm5fXkktrFQHWrI/view?usp=sharing

In recognition of the students’ hard work and creativity in filmmaking, participants received gift cards and certificates of recognition.

ColorGuard Competition:

CHHS is hosting the annual Colorguard Competition! Our students are amazing!

GRADUATION: Your one-stop shop! This went to you via email and messenger, and to your students' email addresses.

Semester 1 absences roll over in Semester 2.

HOW IT WORKS: There is a link with a date (see below). The link opens on WEDNESDAY before Saturday. It begins on that day because we need to staff it appropriately. Years ago, we opened it on Mondays, and many students signed up, but they never showed up. Then the staff showed up, and we had to send them home.

If you do not maintain proper attendance, you will start losing privileges if your attendance is not recorded correctly and cleared. Sign up below to view the following dates and mark your calendar.

ALL THINGS COUNSELING:

Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com

Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events, pictures, and celebrations, but doesn't delve into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.

The AW Weekly: FOR TWO WEEKS! This lets you know about all the home games happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can also come out and support you.

See you next week!
