Hello Rattler Nation-
It is hard to believe there are fewer than 50 days of school left. Over those 50 days, a lot goes on around campus, so the blog will include a lot of information. This blog is a 2-week Special Edition, as it will preview next week AND the week we return from break. First, though, let's talk about this past week!
Spirit Week:

Grading Period Ending:
Grading Period is coming to another close, and then we are in the Home Run Stretch. March 27, 2026, is the last day to make sure your grades are good for progress reports. Be positive and help your students finish strong.
AVID:

Honor Roll:
We had a wonderful Honor Roll Ceremony (HUGE thank you to my entire Counseling Team). We had Freshmen and Seniors, then Sophomores and Juniors. It was so amazing to recognize their hard work and also how so many of them participate in so many other things on campus. We are so proud of them.
Enginneering:
Mrs. T won a six-figure grant in order to purchase new machinery for our engineering lab. Not only are they high-tech, but they are also safer than ever with new safety equipment. One is a large Lathe, and the other is a laser medal cutter.

HOW IT WORKS: There is a link with a date (see below). The link opens on WEDNESDAY before Saturday. It begins on that day because we need to staff it appropriately. Years ago, we opened it on Mondays, and many students signed up, but they never showed up. Then the staff showed up, and we had to send them home.
If you do not maintain proper attendance, you will start losing privileges if your attendance is not recorded correctly and cleared. Sign up below to view the following dates and mark your calendar.
Counseling:

ALL THINGS COUNSELING:
Enrollment Support for Class of 2026 Seniors
Miramar College representatives will be on campus to assist graduating seniors who plan to attend San Diego Community College District schools (Miramar, Mesa, or City College) next year. These Enrollment 101 workshops will provide hands-on support with the college application, financial aid (FAFSA or Dream Act), San Diego Promise, and academic planning. Students will also receive guidance on setting up their college portal and mapping their first semester with a counselor. These workshops are designed to ensure students are fully prepared for a smooth transition to college.

Athletic: ALL ATHLETIC INFORMATION- chrattlers.com
Athletics is a very complex program. It's like running a separate school altogether. While I can highlight a few things here, you must check that website daily and contact the proper coaches. This blog highlights sporting events, pictures, and celebrations, but doesn't delve into the operations of athletics. CHHS has one of the most extensive programs in the county and state.
The AW Weekly: FOR TWO WEEKS! This lets you know about all the home games happening around campus, so your students can get involved, whether cheering on their friends or participating directly. Your family can also come out and support you.

See you next week!
