Hello Serra Community--
We had an amazing week! We even had a baby emergency of a lawnmower on fire (don't worry we initiated protocol and all was over within 5 minutes!). We had an amazing Open House but in the Administration debrief we decided that we need to spice things up a bit so next year we will do things a little different. We cant wait. Progress reports are coming up and make sure to check with your childs teacher if you are unsure how your child is doing.

3. PTO Meeting: The Parent/Teacher Association is in need of members. This group gets together and raises money for morale on campus and have done amazing things like revamp the teachers lounge. The meeting is September 18 at 6:30 in the Media Center.
4. Costa Rica: Want your child to have a memory that will last forever???
Hola. Come travel with us this summer to Costa Rica and Panama with EF Tours. Everyone is welcome. We will be having a parent meeting on Thursday September 20, at 5:30 pm in room 403. It is going to be a fabulous trip! Some of the highlights include: zip lining through the rain forest, a boat ride to a secluded beach for snorkeling, kayaking on Lake Arenal, hiking to La Fortuna Waterfall, visiting natural hot springs, and white water rafting in Costa Rica. In Panama we will visit the Panama Canal and take a boat tour, go to a biomuseo, and take a tour of Casco Viejo in Panama City. Competition Cheerleading Try-outs are Sept 26,27 at 3pm in the Wrestling Room. All students trying out must use www.athleticclearance.com to signup and fill out forms. A sports physical dated after June 4, 2018 must also be turned into the front office with the confirmation form from the website. If a student already signed up online for other athletic teams please check to make sure competition cheer is also been signed up for in www.athleticclearance.com

Booster Information: Class of 2019: At the meeting last night we talked about how we can support one another i making the Class of 2019's last year at Serra the best year. We decided to divide and conquer with SHS footing the bill for Graduation at USD and Boosters supporting events along the way including GRAD Night. We are so grateful to the Boosters.

As we begin our 2018-2019 school year, the Serra Senior Parent Booster Club will be raising funds for this year’s senior class activities which include events such as Grad Night, Senior Luncheon and Graduation.
